Pros

You can basically eat anything you see in the kitchen.

The colleagues are pretty nice and not too annoying.

There is no limit on overtime.

Cons

Pretty much the same as a certain other post.

They basically teach you once and then largely leave you on your own. They don’t proactively ask about your progress.

If you don’t know something, you can only go into the office to ask.

(The testing location is sometimes not in the office; it may be next to the lobby.)

When I first started, the order may have just reached a stopping point, so I did relatively simple tasks such as cleaning, visual inspection, and boxing.

After more orders were added, I basically tested every day.

Not long after I started, the engineers would ask the other assistants nearby about my progress and why the testing was taking so long, or question whether my steps were correct.

But I was sometimes right there beside them. It would have been faster to ask me directly instead of going through other people.

Also, usually only after the engineers asked would the others come ask me about my progress or what problems I had.

But sometimes it was really helpless. After all, you can’t compare someone who just joined to the speed of an experienced worker (right?).

Next,

work assignments are poorly organized and there is no handover.

After finishing one round, I have to ask again what I should do in the next round.

Then I have to ask again after finishing that round. It’s really annoying.

Sometimes they simply can’t give me a schedule.

Maybe the more difficult model in the next round has to be handled by an experienced worker,

so I can only do the basic, simple ones first.

In other words, I don’t know what they will ask me to do next, but the boss’s wife requires me to lay out the schedule in the “To-Do Items for This Week” section of the work report. That’s simply asking the impossible (so I never entered anything).

There was also a minor incident. When I first started, I had no idea that the clock-in time was when they started calculating wages. (My hours were 9:00–18:00.) Before that, I would clock in before 8:30.

I thought it was fine to clock in early at many companies—after all, you start getting paid at the scheduled start time.

So during my first week, I didn’t know this and started eating breakfast right after clocking in.

Who knew the boss’s wife would ask me: “Why don’t you eat breakfast at home?”

????? I thought to myself: Where I eat breakfast is none of your business.

Only later did I find out that wages started being calculated as soon as I clocked in. (This was never mentioned during the interview.)

So afterward, I would clock in at 8:50, just before work started.

I actually really regret joining this company.

I applied for an engineering assistant position, but basically spent every day testing.

It was nothing like an engineering assistant role; it was more like being a technician.

Actually, the company wasn’t looking for an engineering assistant—they needed a technician, right?

I’ve been here for almost three months, and even setting up a server has been dragged out.

They said they had to wait until the boss came back from a business trip before setting it up, but even after he came back, nothing was done.

Every day, the test data has to be uploaded to the server, and I have to ask a colleague to upload it every time. It’s really troublesome ^_^

I complained at work that testing is all I do every day and it’s really annoying.

The other assistants replied that they had gone through the same thing.

But what does that have to do with me? I didn’t apply to be a technician.

And every day I’m busier than a dog, while the pay is on the low side.

(Lower than what 104 showed.)

I’ve recently started interviewing with other companies.

As soon as I find one, I’ll resign.
