Pros

In the kitchen, you can basically eat whatever you see.

The coworkers are pretty good and aren’t overly annoying.

There’s no limit on overtime.

Cons

More or less the same as a certain other review.

They basically teach you once and then mostly leave you on your own. They won’t proactively ask about your progress.

If you don’t know something, you can only go into the office and ask.

(The testing location is sometimes not in the office; it may be next to the lobby.)

When I first started, the orders may have just reached a lull, so I was doing relatively simple tasks such as cleaning, visual inspections, and assembling boxes.

After more orders came in, I was basically testing every day.

Not long after I started, the engineers would ask the other assistants nearby about my progress, why my testing took so long, or question whether my procedures were correct.

But sometimes I was actually right next to them. It would have been faster if they had just asked me directly instead of going through someone else.

Also, usually only after the engineers asked would the others come and ask me about my progress or what problems I was having.

But sometimes it was really helpless. After all, I had just joined, so they shouldn’t compare my speed with that of experienced employees (right?).

Also,

work assignments are poorly organized, and there is no handover.

After I finish one round, I have to ask what I should do in the next round.

Once that round is finished, I have to ask again. It’s really annoying.

Sometimes they can’t give me a schedule at all.

Maybe the more difficult model in the next round has to be handled by an experienced employee,

so I can only do the basic, simple tasks first.

Basically, I don’t know what they will ask me to do next, but the boss’s wife requires me to schedule everything in the “To-Do Items for This Week” section of the work report. That’s completely unreasonable (so I never entered anything).

There was also a small incident. When I first started, I had no idea that your paid work time starts as soon as you clock in. (My hours are 9:00–18:00.) Before that, I used to clock in before 8:30.

I thought it was fine to clock in early at many companies; after all, your pay starts at the scheduled time anyway.

So during my first week, I didn’t know and started eating breakfast right after clocking in.

Who knew the boss’s wife would ask me, “Why don’t you eat breakfast at home?”

????? I thought to myself: Where I eat breakfast is none of your business.

I only found out later that pay starts as soon as you clock in. (This was never mentioned during the interview.)

So afterward, I clocked in at 8:50, just before work started.

I actually really regret joining this company.

I applied for an engineering assistant position, but basically spent every day testing.

It’s nothing like an engineering assistant role; it’s more like a technician.

Actually, the company doesn’t need an engineering assistant—they need a technician, right?

I’ve been here for almost three months, and they still keep dragging their feet about setting up a server.

They said they had to wait until the boss returned from a business trip before setting it up, but even after he returned, nothing was done.

Every day, I have to upload the testing data to the server, and every time I have to ask a coworker to help upload it. It’s really troublesome ^_^

I complain at work that I’m testing every day and it’s really annoying.

The other assistants tell me they went through the same thing.

But what does that have to do with me? I didn’t apply to be a technician.

And I’m busier than a dog every day, while the pay is relatively low.

(Lower than what 104 lists.)

I’ve recently started interviewing with other companies.

I’ll resign immediately once I find one.
