Pros

1. Honestly, this is the most warm-hearted company I have ever encountered. It places great importance on values, and the boss is genuine. I think he is very handsome and gentlemanly, and he cares a lot about everyone, which gives the entire company a strong sense of human warmth. The starting salary is not an issue—the boss is willing to give raises to serious employees, and hardworking people are also promoted more quickly. The colleagues are young and energetic, and the team has a great collaborative atmosphere. Everyone is kind and gets along very well; we often get together or go out to have fun privately, and we also regularly buy lunch and order drinks together.

2. There is a small birthday cash gift, and on your birthday you receive congratulatory cards from the entire company (I am very touched and keep mine every year), travel subsidies, and recently employee trips have resumed, which is so exciting! (Big heart! We recently went to Yilan to see small animals.) There are 3–4 Fridays each month when you can leave work early, employee health checkups, and occasional company dinners (sometimes the boss pays—for example, just last week we went to a second-floor restaurant near National Taiwan Normal University; sometimes the supervisor pays, such as for delivered roast duck; once each quarter there is also a departmental dinner funded through a payroll allocation). Some departments have additional quarterly bonuses and annual performance bonuses. The recent increases for Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and similar holidays—I feel they may be the highest in the industry? Long-serving employees receive commemorative gold coins (I have not received mine yet, so I am not sure how large it is, but it feels very meaningful).

3. It is a well-known brand with year-on-year growth in performance and many new products. You can try products in many different fields and have many opportunities to work with advertising. The work is busy and fast-paced, but there is very little overtime, and you will not be contacted at night or on weekends, allowing for a perfect balance between work and life—something quite rare. The training is comprehensive, with regular courses (each department is different, including management training, product development, procurement negotiation, sales capability, and so on) and reading groups (sometimes you can even receive a red envelope if your reflections are well written). Supervisors are also happy to share their experience openly, and colleagues interested in other fields have opportunities to transfer internally.

4. The office is directly above Exit 9 of Guting MRT Station, so transportation is convenient, and the building and surrounding environment are good. There are McDonald’s, MOS Burger, Starbucks, and many convenience stores and beverage shops nearby, making lunch very convenient.

Cons

1. The FMCG industry changes quickly and emphasizes speed. As a small or medium-sized company, the division of labor is not as fine-grained, so you need a more flexible mindset to solve problems. People who prefer following procedures, are accustomed to routine work, or come from very large companies with extremely specialized divisions may genuinely feel uncomfortable at first. You need to remind yourself to keep an open mind; otherwise, things may feel chaotic in the beginning. Although the company has set working hours, people who are truly looking for a job to coast toward retirement may be disappointed, because the days are actually quite tightly paced. It is more suitable for people who are passionate and pursuing their dreams.

2. In-house roles may require frequent direct communication with the boss. He is communicative, but you need to be clear and substantive. It is best to think through possible solutions before discussing them with him; you cannot simply throw out a problem and expect him to proactively keep tracking the project’s progress, because he is genuinely very busy. You need to maintain control of your own projects. When you encounter a problem, it is recommended that you first discuss it with experienced colleagues or supervisors within the department, which should save you quite a bit of time and frustration. The boss is a good person but somewhat of a perfectionist, and he tends to think things through before taking action, so decisions may require some time for consideration. Colleagues who are accustomed to taking action first and making adjustments along the way may find this a little slow (because the matters themselves are often somewhat urgent), so you need a little extra patience.

3. Because FMCG margins are relatively thin, cost control is more rigorous, and patience is needed when handling related matters. The boss is relatively frugal, but I do not think he is stingy; he will still spend money where it is necessary. Seeing some of the comments below made me feel quite indignant on the boss’s behalf, because I think this place actually has many advantages, and many colleagues have worked here for many years. There is no perfect job, only a job that suits you; nobody is perfect, and what is one person’s honey may be another person’s poison, and vice versa. I recommend coming to see for yourself. I also spent a long time considering whether to join after reading the reviews here, but after working here for a while, I discovered that this really is my paradise. If you only look at the reviews on Tianyancha, you may miss many jobs that others dislike but that you might actually love, so I recommend looking around and comparing more.
