They briefly introduced the company’s policies and started asking questions about my résumé to get to know me as an interviewee. However, the owner did not come that day, and it seemed that many decisions had to be made by the owner. I originally interviewed for an R&D position, and the interviewer was the sales manager. He later told me to come back for an in-person discussion after the owner returned. A week later, I received a call asking whether I would be willing to work in sales. They said they thought my qualifications were very suitable for a sales role, while there was currently no urgent need for an R&D position. They gave me a week to think about it and said they would contact me to check whether I was interested. I did not receive any call or notice after a week. When I contacted them proactively afterward, they told me that they had hoped I would contact them on my own because sales requires initiative. At that point, I found it very strange: you said at the time that you would contact me, but now you are saying that I should take the initiative instead. If I joined the company, would they treat me this way in the future as well? In addition, when they told me that there was no urgent need for an R&D position, their R&D job posting on 104 Job Bank was closed. After rejecting me, they reopened it, so I think there is a fairly high probability that they posted an R&D position but actually wanted to hire someone for sales.
