The headquarters’ interior is very impressive and is also a well-known landmark in Taipei’s Xinyi District.
During the interview, I was interviewed by two male managers together. The questions they asked made them seem rather unprofessional, and some of the things they said were plainly incorrect. They also asked about my family’s personal circumstances. Honestly, what my family is like is my own business—what does it have to do with the job? Asking questions like that already feels like an invasion of privacy. They also spoke disparagingly about previous employers, making sarcastic remarks implying that the interviewee’s former company was not large enough, and so on. It was really baffling.
The interviewers were allowed to ask questions, but I wasn’t. I had only asked one work-related question, yet they immediately asked me why I wanted to ask it. Isn’t an interview supposed to allow candidates to ask questions? What was that about? I asked only one question during the entire interview, and after that they would not let me ask anything else.
From beginning to end, the two managers had a self-centered attitude. Although they smiled while speaking, it was obvious that their expressions were merely forced. At the end, one of them simply said that the interview was over and walked out of the meeting room without looking back. I never heard anything afterward—not even a thank-you email. It felt like the managers cared only about themselves and had no concern for the interviewee’s thoughts. The starting salary is also relatively low compared with other life insurance companies. Overall, it left a very poor impression, and I do not recommend it.
