With nearly four years of experience at this company, working as a store clerk is honestly quite easy. It only gets busier during major holidays. I recommend working here to people who have a responsible attitude but don’t want to do too much, and to those who dislike the many rules found at Japanese companies. If you’re not short on money, it’s a good job for taking it easy.
As mentioned above, the salary is proportional to the workload, so this job is more suitable for people without much financial pressure.
A very important point: Because there are many employees, the store managers and full-time staff you encounter can vary in character. I worked at several locations and only encountered one or two people who were not very okay.
The final straw was a certain clearance center. Initially, the work environment at this store was harmonious, and the adjustment period went relatively smoothly. However, as time passed, I felt that internal interpersonal relationships had a significant impact on the work experience. The work atmosphere was already being affected by communication styles and the way people interacted.
Over the course of working together long term, veteran employees’ attitudes toward newcomers may change over time. For people who place greater importance on harmonious communication or are easily affected by the work atmosphere, these changes may bring a certain amount of mental pressure.
I recommend that prospective applicants pay particular attention to their interactions and ability to adapt with existing team members during their evaluation, to ensure that the workplace meets their needs.
