Pros

The boss says our salaries will be increased every year, but I don't know whether that's true.

Cons

The boss and his wife are completely irresponsible.

They took on an outsourced accommodation contract for Chunghwa Telecom.

The schedule is arranged chaotically, and they are afraid of being sued, so they don't let employees work 16 hours consecutively.

For the 24-hour, three-shift system, they schedule only three full-time employees and one substitute.

Many shifts are eight hours long, with only an eight-hour interval in between, and then we have to work another eight hours.

After getting home and taking care of everything, that leaves only five or six hours of sleep—is this acceptable?

When we talk to the boss, he says, “You’re the ones with too many problems. If you don’t want to do it, say so, and we’ll find new people.”

We suggested finding another substitute to rotate shifts, but he replied, “Are you going to pay the additional labor and health insurance costs for that substitute?”

I was speechless at that moment.

Is this something a boss should say?

The team leader originally arranged the schedule properly,

but the boss insisted it wouldn’t work and went home and completely rearranged it himself.

He’s really something.

I wonder whether Chunghwa Telecom checks the companies it outsources to at all?

Also, because the contract is signed once a year,

we always get only three days of annual leave.

We have eight fixed days off every month,

and holidays that fall on red-letter days do not mean an additional day off.
