The boss is a woman and a very nice person. Sometimes she treats us to snacks and drinks, and the company also covers lunch on workdays, so you don’t have to pay out of pocket. Compared with other places, it’s very generous and a good company. The shortcomings mentioned below absolutely do not mean that this company is bad, but rather refer to “a certain bad apple” in the company.
If you’re applying as an apprentice, watch out for someone with the surname Yu. From my very first day at work, he started trying to psychologically manipulate me without showing any courtesy. I only realized after resigning that this was a terrifying story. He may sometimes chat and joke with you, but that’s not because he wants to become familiar with you—it’s because he’s in a good mood and feels like talking to you. Oh, and the reason I say this is that this industry distinguishes between seniors and juniors, much like the seniority system among nurses in hospitals. You must not offend the company’s “senior”—that is, the person with the surname Yu. He looks carefree and talks big, and with all kinds of macho lecturing, if you say one sentence, he’ll argue against ten. Having to spend nearly 10 hours at work with someone like this is very painful. If you show even a little impatience or become emotional, he won’t show you any courtesy either! Using his authority as a senior, he will ruthlessly suppress you and erase your opportunities to grow. There’s absolutely no doubt that this bad apple is responsible for a large part of the reason the company can’t recruit apprentices: he drives people away, then complains, “Why doesn’t anyone want to come here?”
You think you’re here to learn technical skills, but in reality, you’re competing with your senior 😊 All kinds of harassment, psychological manipulation, and suppression are intended to trample you down. I don’t know how many people he drove away before me, but he won’t tell you. If you really want to come, prepare in advance for how you’re going to deal with this bad apple. I was simply too naïve and thought I was only coming to learn technical skills. Best of luck to us all.
