Can leave work on time

After a typhoon day is announced, the company requires employees to assess the wind and rain conditions the following morning before deciding whether to go to work. Before leaving home, a colleague reported that the wind and rain were severe, but the supervisor only asked whether there was flooding. When the colleague said there wasn’t, the supervisor replied, “Then that’s good. Come to the company as usual, handle everything that needs to be taken care of, and then leave early.”

When training new employees, they say to ask if there are any problems. However, senior employees and supervisors are very obviously impatient with employees they dislike. Their instructions are often unclear, which causes new employees to make incorrect judgments, and then they blame us for not doing things based on “I thought” or “I felt.” Throughout the learning process, they basically treated me with a “negative” attitude. There was so much work that it was impossible to finish it all, leaving me overwhelmed. When I raised this with my supervisor, they simply opened their own notebook and told us that they had even more work to do and that we should arrange things ourselves.

I also remember that once, during an especially busy period, I made a mistake and was loudly berated and blamed by my supervisor in front of everyone. I then wanted to ask a senior employee how to resolve it, but was immediately snapped at: “Are you asking me what to do now?” I really needed an answer and wanted to solve the problem as quickly as possible, but in that embarrassing situation, apart from panicking, I didn’t know what to do. Things like this happened repeatedly, making me feel that the workplace culture was that only if the supervisor liked you would the atmosphere be relatively friendly (although there would still be more work than you could finish). Otherwise, no matter how much effort you made to get up to speed quickly, as soon as you made a mistake, you would be criticized as if you were completely incompetent. This work experience only made me feel that I was terrible and useless.
