Salary. The benefits are fairly good for Hualien.

Basic labor insurance, national health insurance, the 6% pension contribution, annual leave, year-end bonus, and the three traditional holiday bonuses.

The boss likes to make grand promises and take advantage of small opportunities, and favors a manager with 30 years of seniority who likes to cause trouble.

(Drivers are instructed to bring back defective products that should have been scrapped, remove their packaging, and have colleagues at the fruit market sell them individually. Alternatively, tofu, douhua, and other bean-based products are taken out of the freezer and packaged at room temperature outside the storage area, with no concern whatsoever for proper food storage conditions.)

The company specializes in the distribution of processed foods, including fresh products requiring soaking or rehydration, frozen and refrigerated goods, as well as delivery to sales channels. No one cares about or follows the work environment requirements and precautions that should be observed.

Office staff, warehouse personnel, and drivers—no one is willing to make changes to improve work efficiency.

The vast majority of the drivers (except for two or three) are extremely selfish, have poor work habits, and are not cooperative.

Warehouse personnel (most of them are just slacking off and drifting along; quite often they procrastinate and wait for others to help).

The company has significant food safety problems. It allows order-picking staff and drivers to turn off the freezer power while handling goods, leave the freezer door closed improperly during the process, or even leave it wide open, showing no concern whatsoever for the temperature of the storage environment.
