Pros

Salary. The benefits are fairly good for Hualien.

Basic labor insurance, health insurance, 6% pension contribution, annual leave, year-end bonus, and the three traditional holiday bonuses.

Salary is around NT$35,000.

The advantage is that the company’s systems are not well established.

Cons

The boss likes to make grand promises and take advantage of small opportunities, and favors a supervisor with 30 years of tenure who likes to cause trouble.

(Drivers are instructed to bring back defective products that should have been scrapped. After removing the packaging, colleagues at the fruit market are asked to sell them individually. Alternatively, products made from soybeans, such as tofu and douhua, are taken out of the cold storage and packaged at room temperature outside the facility, with complete disregard for food storage conditions.)

The company specializes in the distribution of fresh and frozen foods, preserved foods, processed foods, and delivery through distribution channels. No one cares about or follows the work environment standards and requirements that should be observed.

Office staff, warehouse personnel, and drivers are unwilling to make changes to improve work efficiency.

Most drivers (except for two or three) and employees are extremely selfish, have poor work habits, and cooperate poorly.

Warehouse personnel (most of them just coast along, drift, and often drag things out while waiting for others to help).

The company has significant food safety problems: it allows order pickers and drivers to turn off the cold-storage power while handling and checking goods, leave the cold-storage doors closed improperly during the process, or even leave them wide open, showing complete disregard for storage temperatures.
