Salary. The benefits are fairly good for Hualien.
Basic labor insurance, National Health Insurance, 6% pension contribution, annual leave, year-end bonus, and bonuses for the three major festivals.
Salary is around NT$35,000.
The only advantage is that the company’s systems are not well established.
The boss likes to make grand promises and take advantage of small opportunities, and favors a supervisor with 30 years of tenure who likes to cause trouble.
(The supervisor has drivers bring back defective products that should be scrapped, removes the packaging, and then asks colleagues at the fruit market to sell them individually. Alternatively, products made from soybeans, such as tofu and tofu pudding, are taken out of the freezer and packaged at room temperature outside the storage area, with complete disregard for food preservation requirements.)
The company specializes in the distribution of fresh food requiring soaking or preparation, frozen and refrigerated products, processed food, and delivery through distribution channels. No one cares about or follows the required work environment standards and procedures.
Office staff, warehouse personnel, and drivers are unwilling to make changes to improve work efficiency.
The vast majority of drivers (except for two or three) are extremely selfish, have poor work habits, and cooperate poorly.
Warehouse staff (most of them basically coast along, drift, and often delay tasks while waiting for others to help).
The company has significant food safety problems. It allows order-picking staff and delivery drivers to turn off the freezer power while handling goods, fail to close the freezer door during the process, or even leave it wide open, showing no concern whatsoever for the temperature of the storage environment.
