Pros

Salary. The benefits are fairly good by Hualien standards.

Basic labor insurance, health insurance, 6% pension contribution, annual leave, year-end bonus, and bonuses for the three major festivals.

Salary is around NT$35,000.

The advantage is that the company’s systems are not well established, so

Cons

The owner likes to paint grand visions, is stingy over small advantages, and favors a supervisor with 30 years of service who likes to cause trouble.

(Drivers are brought back, and defective products that should be scrapped are unpacked and then given to colleagues in the fruit market to sell individually. Otherwise, products made from beans, such as tofu and douhua, are taken out of the cold storage and packaged at room temperature outside the storage area, with complete disregard for food storage requirements.)

The company specializes in the distribution of fresh and frozen foods, preserved foods, processed foods, and route delivery services. No one cares about or follows the required work environment standards and requirements.

Office staff, warehouse staff, and drivers—no one is willing to make changes to improve work efficiency.

The vast majority of drivers (except for two or three) are extremely selfish, have poor work habits, and cooperate poorly.

Warehouse staff (most of them are just getting by and drifting; quite often they delay tasks and wait for others to help).

The company has significant food-safety problems, allowing order-picking staff and drivers to turn off the cold-storage power while handling goods, leave the cold-storage doors closed improperly during the process, or even leave them wide open, showing no concern whatsoever for the temperature of the storage environment.
