Pros

Salary. Benefits are fairly good for Hualien.

Basic labor insurance, health insurance, 6% pension contribution, annual leave, year-end bonus, and bonuses for the three major holidays.

Salary is around NT$35,000.

The advantage is that the company’s systems are not well established, so

Cons

The boss likes to make grand promises and take advantage of small opportunities, and favors a supervisor with 30 years of experience who likes to cause trouble.

(Drivers are brought back, and defective products that should be scrapped are unpacked and then required to be sold by colleagues at the fruit market. Alternatively, bean-based products such as tofu and tofu pudding are taken out of the freezer and packaged at room temperature outside the storage area, with complete disregard for food-storage conditions.)

The company specializes in the distribution of fresh and frozen foods, processed foods, and delivery through various channels. No one cares about or follows the required work-environment standards and procedures.

Office staff, warehouse personnel, and drivers are unwilling to make changes to improve work efficiency.

The vast majority of the drivers (apart from two or three employees) are extremely selfish, have poor work habits, and cooperate poorly.

Warehouse personnel (most of them just coast along and muddle through; quite often they drag their feet and wait for others to help).

The company has significant food-safety problems. It allows order-picking staff and drivers to turn off the freezer power while handling goods, leave the freezer door closed improperly during the process, or even leave it wide open, showing complete disregard for the temperature of the storage environment.
