For the sake of investors' greed, senior management began laying off employees indiscriminately, using extremely crude methods. Someone was deemed unsuitable by their manager for not being in the office while working from home in compliance with company policy, and the entire team was laid off. Someone else was laid off for wearing shorts. Some were even laid off simply because their way of speaking was not liked by their manager. There were absolutely no consistent standards. By the end of 2024, dozens of people had already been shown the door, while at the same time the company spent a great deal of money recruiting at least five senior executives from competitors. A team that could originally be managed by a single director now has two vice presidents, with a director under them as well. Saying that this is meant to reduce costs is completely contradictory.

The senior HR executives and HRBPs at this company are also management's enforcers. A normal PIP process should involve setting goals, testing, and reassessment, among other steps. However, HR colluded with managers to skip these procedures and directly dismiss employees. It was only after an employee filed for arbitration that they hurriedly changed the action to a transfer. No one knows what the standards actually are. It is outrageous.

The Chinese Communist Party is a very sensitive issue right now, and YY is a company with its own technology team. The company also develops features such as SHOPLINE Payment and livestreaming. It is hard to imagine where Taiwanese customers' data might end up. Can this company really protect everyone...
