I’m a mother returning to the workforce for the second time. Although this is only a part-time position, I quite recommend KaiYao Network.
The company has flexible working hours in the morning, so I can arrive early and leave early, which suits my situation because I need to pick up my child. My supervisor is also understanding and lets me know in advance which tasks I can handle on my own first thing in the morning. I’m very grateful for that.
Several supervisors are mothers, so we can exchange parenting experiences. The other colleagues are also quite young, and the atmosphere is fairly pleasant.
During the interview, the boss also said that several supervisors who returned to the workforce after having a second child performed very well, so he likes hiring people in this situation.
As for some of the criticisms about the company, I was bold enough to ask about them directly during my interview.
For some criticisms, the interviewer frankly admitted that the company had not handled things well in the past, and explained what improvements had been made in recent years or why certain things still could not be changed.
Some criticisms are actually rather one-sided; anyone with a little work experience would recognize that.
The company partners with quite a few mother-and-baby brands, so from time to time there are baby products to take home, which counts as an additional benefit.
From what I’ve observed, several supervisors have bought homes and cars, so the overall compensation and benefits should be fairly good.
Once my child is a little older, I’ll see whether there are opportunities to become a regular employee or pursue other opportunities.
The downside is that a cleaning lady only comes to clean for a few days each month. The part-timers have to take turns handling tasks such as taking out the trash. For a company that has already reached this size, hiring someone to take out the trash should really be necessary.
Also, the offices are spread across different locations. Sometimes, when helping deliver documents or pick up items, we have to run back and forth to the fifth floor, which is quite run-down. The third-floor office is the smallest and requires us to take off our shoes. The fourth-floor office is the nicest, with a better, more comfortable atmosphere.
