If you want to learn anything, you have to endure workplace bullying, and even after enduring it, you may not necessarily learn anything. It only adds negative emotions…
Manager Guo XX of the Accounting Department in the Finance Division
1. Gender discrimination: Married women are asked to get divorced and remarry their landlord, who is in his 70s, with the claim that they would then be financially free and would not need to work. Unmarried women are told that a landlord in his 70s is a good choice.
2. Verbal bullying: Publicly shouting insults in the Finance Division office, including using profanities toward superiors and saying that the chairman’s and CFO’s decisions are wrong; toward subordinates, saying that no part of their work is good, that they are easily replaceable, and that anyone could do a better job than they can. Long-serving colleagues are told that they should have resigned but have not. Colleagues’ body shapes and poverty-stricken family backgrounds are judged…
3. Shifting responsibility: As a supervisor, he does not check the information provided to the accounting firm. When the accounting firm reports that the information contains problems, he immediately scolds subordinates in front of the accounting firm and says that it is the subordinates’ fault.
When subordinates ask about work they do not know how to do, he does not teach them. He only verbally abuses them and acts as if he is the only capable person. In reality, he cannot do it himself, so he is unable to teach it.
4. Fighting within the Finance Division: Managers fight among themselves, managers fight subordinates, managers fight subordinates from other departments, and subordinates fight among themselves. They are fighting at any time every day, with no peace at all.
5. Traditional family business: As long as you keep the relatives of the royal family happy and work overtime after hours for the chairman to see, you can get promoted and receive a raise by flattering those above you.
6. Personal preference (a favored subordinate, Accountant Hu): In a workplace-bullying environment, senior employees bully newer employees, and if you cannot stay, you are told that your ability to withstand pressure is too low. It is acceptable to go home to cook at 11 a.m., bring freshly cooked braised pork back at noon to curry favor, and return to the company at nearly 2 p.m. No one minds. Not being able to find someone during working hours is considered normal. They falsely claim meal expenses and club meals, then use the extra meals purchased with that money to cultivate relationships everywhere.
It goes on and on…
