Pros

The brave person who stepped forward to speak first—shot out to the first few people who came forward.

Cons

The person everyone at the company least wants to see is GM. Whether it’s an all-hands meeting or a one-on-one meeting when he catches you, no one can understand what he’s talking about. He just keeps throwing around lofty-sounding talk; anyone whose level is never high enough is always someone else. He never reflects on whether he is actually speaking in a way people can understand. At recurring meetings, the thing everyone looks forward to most is his absence. Otherwise, two-thirds of the meeting is spent listening to him speak in incomprehensible jargon, repeatedly explaining the same issues, listening to his inappropriate jokes, or being asked to prepare a pile of unnecessary forms and reports.

Speaking of not attending, everyone should be looking forward to his absence from internal meetings, but it often only happens with external meetings. I don’t know how many important external meetings he has been late to or failed to attend. It’s genuinely embarrassing for the company.

He is constantly trying to establish his authority by belittling others, or trying to prove his abilities with all kinds of theories and highlight how impressive he is. But everyone saw through him long ago. He has worn down a group of colleagues who originally worked with enthusiasm. Is it really so difficult to respect colleagues and respect professional expertise? And then, allowing this situation to continue without doing anything about it—doesn’t HR also bear a great deal of responsibility? It’s truly disappointing to see a good company become like this.
