Previously singled out and condemned by Yu Meiren! Foreign sales brigade throws parties and sets off firecrackers, provoking residents with “Fxxx”; prosecutors take action

The overseas-invested company previously criticized by well-known host Yu Meiren for coercive sales has run into trouble again. Over the past four years, its foreign employees have frequently held all-night parties and set off firecrackers at a dormitory in Taipei’s Wenshan District. Recently, a Bulgarian national named Chris set off skyward firecrackers in the middle of the night and taunted residents, saying, “I know where you live” and “Want they fuck your face.” On the 26th, the Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office indicted Chris on charges including intimidation. It is also separately investigating the company for allegedly illegally sheltering foreign nationals to work in Taiwan.

Since 2018, residents of a community in Wenshan District have been unable to sleep because of noise from a group of foreigners. It turned out that these foreigners were all employed by an overseas-invested company headed by a French national, Wu Bin’ermi (Roben Jeremy Joseph).

In March 2021, Yu Meiren posted on Facebook that a friend’s daughter had gone shopping in Taipei’s East District when she was suddenly approached by foreign men. The friend’s daughter said, “Another girl was rubbing something on my hand, then asked me to go into the store to try it. I didn’t know how to refuse.” She was then pulled into the store and forced to spend NT$1,700 before she could leave. Yu Meiren sharply criticized the practice at the time: “Wouldn’t a store this repulsive affect the entire commercial district? This kind of sales isn’t customer-attraction marketing; it’s harassment marketing! Enough is enough!”
