The boss spends all day setting traps for employees to fall into. When something goes wrong, the boss refuses to take responsibility and pushes it all onto subordinates; when employees do a good job, the boss takes the credit. Employees leave work after 10 p.m. every day, work overtime on holidays, and start working from the second day of the Lunar New Year—this has been going on for years. The boss habitually uses LINE and WeChat on holidays to require employees to prepare reports; even when taking leave to see a doctor or accompany a child taking the high school entrance exam, employees are required to join conference calls. Last year, senior employees were encouraged—and pressured—to retire, forcing them to leave. Chinese employees have learned to slack off and do nothing, and Taiwanese employees cannot manage them, so everything is assigned to the Taiwanese employees instead.
