Biggest advantage
The building’s security guard, Beibei, is incredibly kind and warm-hearted. Huge praise 👍
Based on the experiences shared by the senior colleagues below,
I’m adding some more~~(⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎)
Year-end party: None
Spring banquet: None
Company dinners: None
Disadvantages that sound like advantages:
1. Near-expiry food
It’s basically food that couldn’t be sold and is about to expire before they take it out to distribute.
Items with longer shelf lives are prioritized for donation or given away as gifts.
Only whatever they can’t finish handling is given to employees :)
2. The senior manager is not as generous as other former colleagues described; rather, they are the main reason you would leave the company.
The actual disadvantages:
1. The “Korean pie in the sky”:
Don’t expect an environment filled with Korean. The office primarily uses Chinese; only the boss and the boss’s wife use Korean for simple greetings and small talk,
and at most, you may help translate some very basic content.
Business trips actually depend heavily on the department. Generally, only employees at the level of junior manager or above have the opportunity, but if you can refuse, you absolutely should.
There’s a high probability you’ll end up working 12 hours a day, with no overtime pay or compensatory leave. If you unfortunately have to travel with the boss, you’ll have no free time at all. I’ve heard of cases where a senior colleague had to take an early-morning flight there, and an early-morning flight back, then return to the office to work in the afternoon.
There is no compensation for overtime or having to leave early to catch a flight; if you want to rest, you have to take leave yourself.
2. True.
3. True.
4. High turnover
There’s a good chance that, less than a month after you join, you’ll have to train a new employee. If the new employee makes a mistake, you’ll still have to take responsibility. It’s completely absurd.
Other former colleagues have also shared that, possibly because the company has trouble finding people, there’s a high chance you’ll interview and apply for position A, but after joining, be assigned to position B. Your only choices are to compromise or leave.
5. True.
6. True.
7. True.
Your supervisor will constantly emotionally blackmail you, saying that the company and the boss really hate employees taking Mondays or Fridays off.
But Mondays and Fridays don’t seem particularly busy……..
8. True.
When the supervisor is bored, they’ll look through the contents of your email correspondence with vendors.
9. Very much true! Strictly speaking, there’s been a slight improvement~ Instead of saying these things to your face, they go find someone else and complain about you in a supposedly quiet whisper that everyone can still hear ^^
They tell everyone all sorts of things about you~
So you absolutely must not offend anyone in a supervisory position.
10. True.
11. True. They periodically bring in some strange computer company to crack into things.
12. True. Unless you firmly assert your position and submit an application in accordance with regulations, they’ll keep delaying it indefinitely.
If you don’t agree to the delay according to their wishes, refer to item 9 above.
13. True. They make you stay in a terrible “cannon room,” possibly the worst place you’ll ever stay in your life.
Additional points
14. The office is quiet most of the time, but the boss’s wife will play music resembling hymns directly in the office. Since it’s played through a laptop, the sound is shrill and irritating. From time to time, she’ll even hum along with the melody. If you happen to be feeling agitated at the time, your anger level is sure to explode.
15. Whatever you do, don’t offend the highest-ranking supervisors in the Sales or Administration departments. Don’t have ideas of your own: if they tell you to do A, do A; if they tell you to do B, do B. It’s best not to offer other opinions or personal views, or you’re destined to be blacklisted.
16. The people in the Administration Department are all cold. Apart from showing warmth toward the boss and the boss’s wife, they’ll otherwise make you feel as though you owe them tens of millions.
17. Accounting frequently issues incorrect invoices. If your position requires you to mail invoices, and you don’t carefully check them before sending them out, the accounting department that made the mistake will blame you for not checking.
