Pros

Except for necessary dinners outside working hours, you can basically arrive and leave work on time.

The boss has a vivid imagination; if you're slick enough, you can coast along and collect a paycheck.

The boss thinks important matters are unimportant, yet the company somehow never goes under—it's quite a miracle.

Cons

The company owes a tremendous amount of money—to banks, shareholders, and vendors. It is even behind on labor and health insurance premiums and business taxes, making it impossible for normal business operations to proceed. We constantly have to apologize to clients, while the boss neither cares nor faces the problems; he simply refuses to answer the phone. Normally, he only makes grand promises and never handles problems. He has no professional ethics or integrity and only steals other people's work, passing it off as his own. Projects begin because of the boss's naïve, shameless grand promises: whatever he wants has to be produced for him immediately. They also end up stuck and unable to continue because of those same naïve, shameless promises. After a while, the whole cycle repeats. He is excellent at making empty promises but has no ability to make money, only wanting to take shortcuts with no moral standards or credibility. He also loves sending useless junk messages to group chats and disturbing everyone. He acts as though being the boss makes him God, and he verbally attacks employees. He is extremely concerned with saving face, yet is often the most embarrassing person there—for example, his Japanese is actually terrible, and meetings with the Japanese side become complete exchanges at cross-purposes because he understands nothing but insists on pretending that he does.

The parachuted-in manager is completely useless—a loud troublemaker who does nothing but talk and stir things up. It would be bad enough that he does not know how to manage, but he also loves putting on airs as if he were the boss. His main functions are to ruin office harmony and motivate people to work harder to leave and find new jobs. Occasionally, he can serve as the boss's scapegoat. He is excellent at taking credit and messing things up: a non-recyclable piece of trash collecting a high salary.

Although, for reasons unknown, the company still has not gone under, it is not a healthy work environment overall. Turnover is not low, and you can forget about handovers being conducted normally. Everyone who needed to leave has already left, and there are no major problems among colleagues. The people at the top are basically giant babies who constantly need someone to clean up after them. Run for your life~
