Suitable for people who enjoy workplace power struggles and flattering others.
The company is basically a battlefield. The female boss bullies the weak and fears the strong, is skilled at psychological manipulation and sowing discord, and likes to encourage employees to compete against one another to make more money for the company~ She claims to run an upright business and grandly says that she values long-term clients, yet asks employees to fleece them and charge higher miscellaneous fees in order to cover the company’s other expenses.
The male boss seems mild-mannered. His main duties are to sit in the transparent office, supervise employees, and calculate bonuses.
The process for receiving a bonus starts from taking the order and safely delivering it to the customer; only after deducting the profit as determined by the boss does anything end up in your pocket. The full cycle of an order lasts as long as four or five months, but the company’s turnover is extremely high—anyone who lasts six months counts as a veteran. On top of that, the boss has never provided a detailed breakdown of bonuses, so the actual profits are never transparent.
The female boss also hints that employees should finish preparing large orders before resigning, then hand them over to a new hire to follow up. This allows the company to save on bonuses, because one of the rules is that bonuses are paid according to the responsible contact person listed on the order.
From the very first day of employment, the workload is stuffed to the brim, using people to the fullest. It is commonplace for someone to be absent the day after the previous day.
If a female employee lasts a little longer, the female boss will act as though she sees potential in her and wants to groom her for management, while also having her look after new hires.
But people simply cannot be retained in this environment, leaving supervisors to suffer miserably. This also gives the female boss another opportunity to question your abilities and claim that you are inadequate.
The female boss loves checking how quickly employees reply to emails and picking holes in everything. You cannot leave work until all emails for the day have been handled, but she alone determines the standard. Because of time differences, it is common for a customer email to arrive a few minutes before the end of the workday, or for a customer to reply again in the afternoon after the email was handled that morning. These situations all count as part of that day’s responsibilities.
If they are not handled properly, the next day she will hint that someone failed to fulfill their responsibilities yesterday. (She only ever says “someone” to create suspicion among everyone, so that people will work harder and dare not slack off.)
Later, she even implemented collective punishment: if there is a fine or additional cost, the relevant employees have to share it (What a guaranteed-profit, risk-free business XDD)
The company environment is dim, and the building, stairways, and cramped shared restrooms are all quite old. Basic supplies are also lacking; even small-cost items such as toilet paper and dish soap are not provided. Employees are responsible for cleaning the office on a rotating basis.
The problems caused by the female boss are truly too numerous to list. Young people who want to get some experience are welcome to go verify this for themselves. If you naively want to open your heart to the boss and work yourself to the bone, all you will get in return is disillusionment—there are still plenty of fresh young workers outside~~
The company says it complies with the Labor Standards Act, but I do not know which version of the regulations she is looking at. When resigning, if you are forced to stay longer, I recommend bravely seeking assistance from the Bureau of Labor Insurance. This will not only help the company keep up with the times, but also help the boss catch up with the era.
Finally, thanks to Tianyan Tong, which allows the little underdogs on the labor side to rise above the water and make their voices heard.
