Bottom line: run.

1. The starting salary is not high, and HR is very good at cutting salaries.

2. There are many systems and they are chaotic. There are also many old insurance records with data that cannot be found in the system, so you constantly have to ask other departments, and they may not even respond. When system figures or data are incorrect, it is always customer service's fault, and it all gets deducted from customer service's performance score…

3. You already have to work shifts on holidays, but overtime on weekdays is routine. You basically end up working excessive overtime, and overtime is forcibly scheduled when shifts are arranged. If you do not want to work overtime or have something to attend to, you can only find a colleague to cover for you; otherwise, it will affect your performance evaluation.

4. Supervisors are very good at making grand statements and painting an overly rosy picture of how great the company is. In reality, the turnover rate is very high, and there is a lot of work to do every day.

5. Taiwan Life's performance targets are extremely high compared with those in the industry (a colleague who had worked for a competitor once shared this). Many people resign soon after joining (some were even supervisors who did not last a week).

6. They set up some so-called dedicated hotlines that serve no purpose other than increasing everyone's workload.

7. Supervisors mostly turn a blind eye to the voices of frontline employees. Perhaps they are also used to people coming and going and not staying long.

8. Most of the company's operations departments are very inefficient, and people often call to ask about the status of things (claims, premiums, and so on). Customer service is basically the cannon fodder, because the only customer service phone number listed on notices and online is the one people call, and as soon as the call connects, they start yelling…

9. Anyone preparing to submit a résumé is advised to pass on this opportunity. I have already helped everyone avoid this pitfall.
