Pros

1. The environment is relatively uncomplicated, and there are opportunities to meet like-minded friends.

2. The company has a flat organizational structure, so the distance between employees and supervisors is relatively short.

3. If you are talented, the salary is fairly generous (provided that your supervisor likes you).

4. It can be considered a safe haven. If you have average abilities and only care about getting a salary increase without caring about anything else, it is quite suitable for coming here to coast.

5. If you want to learn a professional skill, the supervisors here are all very willing to teach.

6. You can apply for overtime pay.

Cons

1. Basically, the system is based on seniority. If you think the people above you have poor working abilities, there is a very high chance you will have no other opportunity to turn things around.

2. The person in charge changes directions from one day to the next. A policy they asked you to implement a few days ago may later become the reason they give you trouble, or they may overhaul everything and leave you at a loss.

3. Employees’ personal plans are not respected. When duties are reassigned or important policies change, despite the flat organizational structure, subordinates are not necessarily informed in advance or invited to discuss the matter together.

4. The person in charge claims that the company encourages employees to pursue learning opportunities, but sometimes, even if you pursue further education independently and express interest in taking on a specific position, you still cannot successfully obtain an opportunity to participate.

5. Sometimes interns are overtrained, while training for full-time employees is rather limited. If you want to learn and grow, think twice before applying.

6. The reward and punishment system for full-time employees is unclear. Employees without ability can still be promoted once they have enough seniority and are well protected, while capable employees are not treated well.

7. The leadership cannot lead by example and also shows some degree of educational discrimination (not having attended graduate school is treated as equivalent to being uneducated). No matter how many additional skills you have or how capable you are, employees with the same educational background receive roughly the same salary—an across-the-board equalization.

8. The promotion review system is claimed to be rigorous, but in fact it is full of loopholes. Sometimes an assistant is reviewing another assistant; responsibilities increase, but the salary does not necessarily increase accordingly.

9. The company provides no incentives, such as allowances, for self-improvement, yet it subtly pressures employees to study on their own to obtain certifications or to continue their education, and then presents their achievements as something the company helped them accomplish.

10. Benefits quietly decrease while the required workload quietly increases (no snack cabinet, no drinks, no MVP, monthly deep cleaning, inconvenient garbage disposal, weekly duty rotations, and entering strange forms or SOPs).

11. Learning resources are unstable. Training courses may suddenly be reduced or become too company-specific; they come and go, and basically depend entirely on the leadership’s mood.

12. Many of the systems and processes are cumbersome and meaningless.

13. Capable employees are overworked.

14. The leaders are very childish. Their behavior is generally easy to read, but because they are childish, they are especially troublesome when they throw a tantrum.

15. Overall turnover is fairly high. If you want to know why, you can come and try it for yourself.

Having said all that, to be fair, this is actually a good place for recent graduates. You can generally leave work on time, genuinely learn things, and the salary is not too bad. If you can turn a blind eye to the injustices mentioned above, you are genuinely quite welcome to join.
