Very suitable for people who want to coast toward retirement or prepare for exams. It makes no difference if you spend practically the whole day watching stocks, binge-watching dramas, reading novels, smoking, or running a side business. You only need to spend about one or two hours a day handling things, and even if your quarterly performance review is terrible, as long as you don’t cause any major problems, you can still comfortably collect the guaranteed year-end bonus.
People who take their work seriously or are capable should absolutely not come here. This is a textbook case of the more capable you are, the more overworked you’ll be—you just do more and get more exhausted. They only like people who flatter the boss, put on an act, and dodge issues with empty rhetoric. Performance reviews and bonuses are not directly related; don’t assume that getting a good review means you’ll receive a better bonus. As for promotions, they have nothing to do with ability at all—as long as you’re good enough at bragging and flattering, you can get promoted just the same.
