Pros

The boss gives employees products that are overstocked.

That’s it.

Cons

To cut to the chase: “Don’t come, don’t come, don’t come,” unless you want to spend your entire paycheck seeing a psychiatrist.

Red flag 1: “The boss sends work messages even in the middle of the night and on holidays.”

If you don’t reply to the messages, be prepared to see the boss’s sour face at work and be told that you’re not working hard enough. I thought I was signing an employment contract when I joined the company—turns out it was a slave contract. ^^

Red flag 2: “The turnover rate is extremely high.”

There are only a little over ten office employees, yet nearly 20 people can leave in a year. Despite the high turnover rate, the company never reflects on itself; it just assumes that everyone who quits is a “strawberry generation” snowflake. Oh, right—the company has no HR department, and the boss even requires employees who are preparing to resign to interview their replacements. They can only leave after someone is found. What a joke—someone is already leaving, and you still expect them to find their own replacement?

On top of that, the boss’s catchphrase is “I treat you like a friend.” They have absolutely no sense of boundaries and, along with another senior middle-aged woman, are constantly probing into employees’ private lives. When someone resigns, the boss will even yell, “I treated you like a friend—how could you treat me like this?” The undisputed champion of workplace PUA.

Red flag 3: “The company is full of incompetent people.”

For example: the person in charge of overseas business doesn’t speak any foreign languages and even has to bring an interpreter along when attending trade shows. They’re the kind of person who types the entire body of an external email into the subject line.

Red flag 4: “The environment is terrible, and there are rats.”

The soundproofing is awful. During work, you can constantly hear the machinery operating in the factory. You can even hear the boss gossiping about people in their office or another department holding a meeting. As for the rats, they’re simply disgusting. There’s nothing more to say.

If I could do it all over again, I’d rather work as a cemetery caretaker than come to work here. This place is more terrifying than encountering a ghost. ^_<
