Pros

1. The projects are well-known and large in scale, with many projects and high budgets. If you want to accumulate more experience in a short time than you would at a typical company, and potentially become a supervisor, this is an opportunity. However, the prerequisite is that you are someone who works logically. When newcomers first arrive, they may be scared off by the workload and feel that they have to do everything, without knowing how to prioritize the important tasks over the minor ones.

If you can stay for more than a year, the amount of project experience you accumulate is basically equivalent to three years at an outside company.

2. There is a high degree of flexibility—you manage yourself. When you have a problem, bring a proposed solution to your supervisor or the owner, and you will get results more quickly.

3. The owner is genuinely very capable when it comes to managing large-scale events and presentations. They can also be very harsh and unpleasant in the way they speak. If you are able to block out what they say, there are some work skills you truly would not easily learn elsewhere.

Cons

1. There are many work group chats, and they keep buzzing nonstop, which can be quite disruptive to your personal life. Government agencies in particular like creating group chats, so you have to make an effort not to open them and be able to withstand some sarcastic comments from government contacts asking why you are not replying on weekends. The owner also hopes everyone will respond, but some senior colleagues simply disappear on weekends, so I eventually learned not to reply either.

2. After finishing a major project, you move on to a smaller one and still have to write proposals, leaving very little time to catch your breath. The high degree of flexibility comes from the company being extremely busy, but this can be very harsh for newcomers. If you are not good at surviving in that environment and mentally resilient, you will not be able to stay.

3. I also encountered that strange cleaning lady. I do not know whether she is still there, but her constant nonsensical chatter was really quite annoying.
