The bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara, deeply practicing the Perfection of Wisdom for a long time, saw that all five aggregates are empty and overcame every kind of suffering. O Śāriputra, form is emptiness; emptiness is not different from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself is form. The same applies to feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness. O Śāriputra, all phenomena are empty: they are unborn, unceasing, undefiled, immaculate, neither increasing nor decreasing. Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, no feeling, perception, formation, or consciousness; no eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no form, sound, smell, taste, touch, or mental objects; no eye-consciousness and so on up to no mind-consciousness. There is no ignorance and no extinction of ignorance, and so on up to no aging and death and no extinction of aging and death. There is no suffering, no origin of suffering, no cessation of suffering, and no path. There is no wisdom, no attainment, and no non-attainment. Therefore, because there is no attainment, bodhisattvas rely on the Perfection of Wisdom and have no obstruction in their minds. Having no obstruction, they have no fear; going beyond confused delusions, they reach final nirvana. The buddhas of the three times, relying on the Perfection of Wisdom, attain unsurpassed, complete, and perfect enlightenment. Therefore, know the Perfection of Wisdom as the great mantra, the mantra of great knowledge, the unsurpassed mantra, the mantra equal to the unequalled, the mantra capable of relieving all suffering. It is true; it is not false. Therefore, proclaim the mantra of the Perfection of Wisdom: Gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā.
