Supervisors sometimes take credit for others’ contributions, so occasionally you can get some supplies.
I’m not sure if it’s because everyone works on government contracts, but the office has no energy. Everyone seems to be waiting for retirement.
Overtime can never be claimed as overtime pay; you can only claim compensatory leave. Sometimes, you’re even indirectly discouraged from reporting your overtime hours.
Overall, the organization often says one thing and does another. Although there is always some kind of policy in place, local branches operate autonomously, and the local director has the most authority. Even if the director is extremely incompetent, you still have no choice but to follow their instructions. I happened to work under a very hypocritical supervisor who liked saying one thing and doing another, only wanted to hear responses they liked, refused to accept others’ suggestions, and frequently used emotional manipulation. They loved piling extra work onto junior employees, leaving them overwhelmed, while refusing to raise their pay. Even when issues like this were reported to the headquarters, no one paid any attention.
In addition, although the organization as a whole is large, every junior supervisor always wastes time in meetings. They love holding meetings based on wild, impractical ideas instead of focusing on the key points.
People who come to work here are really unlucky. I do not recommend working here.
