The intelligence test was more than 70% math questions.

I interviewed on Friday and was notified of my acceptance the following Wednesday.

I only received the interview email on Thursday afternoon.

On my first morning, my supervisor asked an engineer to show me the ropes.

Then at noon, my supervisor told the engineer to accompany me all day,

so he could not get his own work done.

I was thinking, ??? What is going on???

I felt like I was wasting his time.

Or did you simply have no plans to train new employees?

You just hand me a task and let me figure it out myself, telling me to ask if I don't understand.

I was honestly stunned. I was left to fend for myself on my very first day.

Seeing that everyone was busy all day, I felt embarrassed to ask questions.

No one talked at all. The work atmosphere was very serious and stressful.

My work area was the same as my supervisor's.

One moment, he would ask the engineer about my situation;

a little later, he would ask me how my learning was going.

My internal monologue: I was only half-abandoned.

What was going on? Did he really still need to ask?

It wasn't like in a factory, where the work is divided up among different stations:

a1–10, b11–20, and so on.

It felt like the tasks were randomly assigned by the supervisor at any time.

There was no SOP. I often saw engineers start working on one task,

only to be called away to receive instructions for another task.

As long as the supervisor had not left work, no one else dared to leave early.

Basically, we worked overtime every day.
