I felt disrespected as an applicant during the interview alone. I really can't imagine what it would be like to work with them after actually joining.
I interviewed for a position in the Marketing Department a few days ago, and the entire interview process was truly eye-opening. The head of the Marketing Department was still interviewing the previous candidate, so she came in nearly half an hour late. After she came in, she had her laptop with her and rarely looked at me during the interview, constantly typing on it.... I was actively sharing my personal work experience and projects, but I had no idea whether she was actually listening carefully to what I was saying. In the final 10 minutes, she asked whether I had any questions. I asked three or four questions, and her answers to each were no more than 10 words.... They were essentially: “What do you think?” “About the same, I guess!” “Isn’t every company more or less the same?”
...So why ask me whether I have any questions? If she wasn't going to answer the applicant's questions properly, I might as well not have asked.
The entire interview process made me feel that the manager (the female vice president) was extremely arrogant and disrespectful toward applicants.
