Pros

The boss might give you small snacks (worth less than 200 NTD).

Cons

Reason for leaving

1. Actual working hours did not match the stated hours

During recruitment, they said the hours were 9:00–18:00.

There were discrepancies from the very beginning regarding the working hours (I don’t understand why they had to be dishonest about them).

In reality, the hours were 9:30 to 18:30 (and sometimes you were required to work overtime until 20:00).

2. Salary did not match the listing on 1111

104: 35,000–40,000 NTD

In reality, the salary structure explained during the interview was 27,000 + 1,000 (perfect attendance bonus) + 2,000 meal allowance.

(They even continued to describe it this way starting in January, despite it being illegal.)

So in the end, if you had to work overtime, the pay was extremely low.

(Afterward, they also told me that one hour for meals would be deducted even when I worked overtime.)

3. Overtime pay was not provided

When I really had to work overtime,

I was working overtime, and the boss was also there that day.

He knew I had not taken a meal break and was continually checking the reports,

but he did not tell me to take a break.

In the end, he told me that the time would be deducted and not paid. I was completely stunned.

4. Performance bonuses were promised but never received

At the beginning, during the interview, the boss painted a rosy picture, saying

that there would be bonuses if I completed the requested PPTs or Excel files,

and that my overall salary would not be limited to such a low base salary.

I genuinely believed him at first.

I can say that I put my heart and soul into the work (and in fact completed everything).

However, when I asked how my December salary would be calculated, he only then said that there would be no performance bonus during the first three months.

Moreover, I had to ask three or four times how much my December salary would be before he answered me.

(The first two times, he kept repeating that it depended on performance without answering with an actual figure.)

Then, after he himself said that the actual amount was only 30,000 NTD, he still said things like, “Didn’t I already mention that during the interview?”

I applied for the secretary position.

Basically, the secretary role at this company is closer to accounting:

consolidating each beauty therapist’s monthly performance figures and overtime hours, among other things.

Basically, I also do not recommend that beauty therapists join this company.

The working hours are 10:00–20:00, with two hours deducted for meals.

(But in reality, I don’t think the beauty therapists actually get two hours of rest.)

They also say that you must clock in at 9:50 to start your shift (but this time is unpaid).

Clocking in at 9:55 counts as being five minutes late.

At other shops, beauty therapists do not have to inventory goods; they only need to be responsible for serving customers.

At this shop, beauty therapists are responsible for inventorying goods,

front-desk duties, and organizing towels.

This part may depend on the individual,

but regarding the working hours, I personally feel that they are somewhat exploitative.

Perhaps because beauty therapists’ pay structure is mostly based on performance, they care even less about this?

Everyone can consider it for themselves.
