They originally said they had flexible working hours, but then introduced daily morning meetings. It was completely different from what they said in the interview. The backend is still written in vanilla code. The supposedly free-spirited atmosphere was forcibly turned into military-style indoctrination. You have to report what you did and how many minutes you spent on it (in a daily report), as well as write down what you plan to do next week. There are too many meetings, and it feels like time is being wasted in meetings. Then, someone was dismissed for missing one morning meeting, which seemed completely illogical (so much for flexible working hours). If they are so afraid of employees slacking off, they should not use the term “flexible working hours.” There is no professional SA to assign tasks, which feels quite unfriendly to new employees.
