Idealizing reality without bowing to it—think about it carefully, that’s a strength~

Here’s a story to share with everyone: There was a large temple that enshrined several great Buddhas. These spiritual beings could not leave the temple and required the people to enter the temple, light lanterns and incense, burn joss paper and lotus flowers. The offerings from believers—fruit all year round—were still not enough; snacks and drinks were considered too little, and they insisted on having both fish and meat, being picky eaters. A believer prayed for protection and good health, yet was questioned: wasn’t this believer a person but a dog? What right did a dog have to ask for good health? Little did they know that this dog was paralyzed on one side of its body and was no longer capable of caring for the many puppies at home. In the end... it caused a tragedy.
