Interview format: In person
Company atmosphere: Lifeless and gloomy
Offer received: Yes
Position applied for: Test Engineer
Team size: Small
There are two departments, and each has only one test engineer responsible for development and maintenance.
Interview experience:
At the beginning, I filled out some basic information and selected adjectives that matched my personality.
The first round was a conversation with HR and a self-introduction. They emphasized that they needed someone who was very “detail-oriented.”
The second round was an interview with the technical manager, who also strongly emphasized being “detail-oriented” and asked whether I had any “information security experience.”
What left a deep impression on me was that if the interviewee’s personality was described as “outgoing,” the interviewer would ask: “People who are usually outgoing tend to be less detail-oriented. Why would you want to apply for this position?”
I believe the interviewer may not have meant any harm, but it was very uncomfortable to hear as an applicant.
Although the interviewer gave me a simple test, my overall impression of the interview was truly terrible.
Furthermore, if you do not have relevant experience writing test “programs,” your job title will be “PM Assistant.”
The tasks include:
1. Conduct testing
2. “Respond to customer inquiries”
