聯合東方國際股份有限公司
Pros

The company is a startup brand, and the owner and colleagues are all young. Their ideas are relatively progressive, and they are very receptive to new ideas.

Cons

Job title: Production Control Specialist

Job responsibilities:

Production planning and scheduling, handling incoming and outgoing shipments, quality control, and management of outsourced suppliers

Work situation:

Although my position officially belonged to the in-house brand organization (a subsidiary), I was managed by people from the parent company. Multiple attempts to raise this issue produced no results, and I eventually became the target of the favored employee.

The subsidiary’s work environment was relatively poor. There was no air conditioning in the warehouse area, yet I had to work there for long periods. It was so hot that I often felt like I was about to suffer heatstroke.

I only discovered after joining that the actual job responsibilities were different. The workload was often too large to handle because the company’s internal operations were very disorganized. There were frequently urgent tasks that had to be completed quickly, and although I repeatedly raised the issue and requested support from my superiors, it was never resolved.

In addition to the highly chaotic workflows, it was also difficult to apply my practical experience during the handover. The person handing the work over to me would require me to follow their methods, but would also tell me that I could make my own adjustments. On top of that, they were extremely controlling and domineering, and often contradicted themselves, making the work truly miserable.

The workplace I was assigned to had been partitioned off by the parent company, so we could only use a small portion of the space. As new products were added, more space was needed, but the parent company’s acting supervisor was very rigid during repeated discussions and unwilling to provide more space. The allocation of resources was truly unfair.

I can only say that I am very fortunate to have escaped that ordeal. The boss here genuinely respects the favored employee’s opinions. I am also sharing my personal account of working hard under these conditions for the reference of all junior colleagues. There were both good and bad aspects.
