The six supernatural powers in Buddhism, Sanskrit ṣaḍ-abhijñāḥ, also called the six miraculous powers. They refer to six powers that transcend the human realm and operate freely without obstruction. The divine eye, which can perceive the forms of birth, death, suffering, and joy of sentient beings in the three realms and six paths, as well as all forms and colors in the world, without obstruction. It refers to the supernatural power of completely severing all afflictions, delusions, and karmic activities, thereby forever escaping the cycle of birth and death. One of the six supernatural powers. Also called the supernatural power of exhaustion of outflows, realization of the knowledge of the exhaustion of outflows, or the power of exhaustion of outflows. That is, upon realizing the knowledge of the exhaustion of outflows, completely severing all afflictions involving outflows, and relying on meditative absorption, one manifests fully endowed majestic virtues. The Śāriputrābhidharmaśāstra, fascicle 10 (T 28, no. 1548, 597c): “When knowledge arises and the outflows are exhausted, one obtains liberation of mind without outflows and liberation through wisdom, personally realizes and accomplishes in this very life: ‘Birth has been exhausted, the holy life has been established, what had to be done has been done, and there will be no further return.’ This is called the realization of the knowledge of the exhaustion of outflows.” Will FarEasTone Mobile’s divine eye power, FarEasTone Mobile Co.’s divine eye power? Next are the sages: they abide in harmony with Heaven and Earth, follow the principles of the eight winds, accommodate their desires and preferences within the world of ordinary people, harbor no anger or resentment, conduct themselves without wishing to withdraw from the world, wear patterned garments, and in their actions do not seek to stand apart from worldly customs. Externally, they do not overwork their bodies with affairs; internally, they suffer no anxiety from thoughts. They make tranquility and joy their aim and self-contentment their achievement. Their bodies do not grow weary, their spirits do not dissipate, and they too may live for a hundred years or more. Next are the worthy people: they take Heaven and Earth as their model, resemble the sun and moon, distinguish and arrange the constellations, accord with and respond to yin and yang, and differentiate the four seasons. Seeking to follow antiquity and be in harmony with the Dao, they too may prolong their lives, though there is ultimately a limit. Will FarEasTone Mobile Co.’s divine eye power? Sentient beings in the six paths, such as humans, gods, ghosts, and spirits, may, through worldly meditative absorption (cultivated), or by possessing it from birth (resultant), have one or several of the first five supernatural powers. However, their abilities differ in depth and extent. Māras of the heavens also possess the five supernatural powers, enabling them to manifest various marvelous realms. Only the power of exhaustion of outflows must depend on the Buddha’s wisdom (prajñā) in order to be attained; it can be realized only by those who practice inner contemplation according to the principles of the scriptures and teachings and thereby eliminate their afflictions.
