Suitable for those who want to retire while earning minimum wage. After six years there, my salary was adjusted only once, by NT$300.
The work itself is very simple, but the supervisor is afraid that new hires will not stay, so they directly assign them even more mindless tasks. If anything comes up, they just call on someone else to clean up the mess. I have seen veteran employees dump their work on newcomers, but never newcomers dump their work on veterans. As expected, only a supervisor could come up with such an innovation.
The supervisor has a bad temper but still pretends to be reasonable and impartial. The only people whose words the supervisor understands are those who have a good relationship with them and will help them slack off or slack off together with them.
Whenever employees try to fight for their rights, the supervisor tells them not to keep bringing up the Labor Standards Act. If an employee says something the supervisor does not like, they keep trying to smear that employee. In any case, the supervisor is always right.
No matter what new bonus system the company introduces or what equipment it replaces, the supervisor tells no one. Even announcements that would benefit employees are not posted in the group chat. The level of secrecy is truly exceptional.
It is very easy to get promoted to station manager; the difficult part is avoiding being forced out. The essential skill is flattery. The supervisor flatters upper management while privately complaining to vendor engineers about how incompetent the people above them are, and so on. They have real Oscar potential.
You do not need to know much to start working there. The more you learn, the more work you are given, and you also have to watch out for malicious coworkers. As long as the supervisor takes a dislike to you, they can pick at the details and pin some baseless accusation on you. The company will not even ask whether it is true; as long as there is a pretext for deducting money, that is enough.
When the company feels it is not making money, it immediately cuts staff. HR bluntly tells you not to come in the next day. If you do not understand the Labor Standards Act, you will be taken advantage of completely.
The supervisor often claims that upper management ordered employees to use up their annual leave and schedules employees’ annual leave without authorization. The supervisor only backed off after I directly asked HR about my annual-leave entitlements.
