Practitioners of the Lesser Vehicle possess only the five supernatural powers: the power of magical manifestation, the divine eye, the divine ear, reading the minds of others, and recollection of past lives. Practitioners of the Great Vehicle, in addition to these five powers, also attain the power of the exhaustion of contaminants, making six powers in total. Supernatural powers may appear to bring us convenience, but the Buddha did not encourage his disciples to pursue them.
