Long ago, in an ancient and desolate village, there was a mysterious legend about a Ghost Guardian. The village stood at the edge of a dense forest, and people had long heard about an abandoned mansion deep within the woods known as the “Haunted House.”
According to legend, many years ago, a young woman named Ariana lived in this mansion. Ariana was beautiful, intelligent, kind, and gentle, and everyone in the village liked her. However, one fateful night, the mansion caught fire in a devastating blaze. The fire was so fierce that the mansion was consumed in an instant, and Ariana also died in the sea of flames.
It was said that Ariana’s spirit did not leave this world but remained in the mansion. People called her the “Ghost Guardian” and believed that she protected the mansion’s grounds and preserved the village’s peace. Many claimed to have seen her figure beneath the moonlight. She wore a white dress, and her long hair fell to the ground like a waterfall. Her eyes were filled with sorrow and compassion.
Although the legendary Ghost Guardian had never harmed anyone, people still feared her presence. The village elders told the young people not to approach the abandoned mansion at night, let alone anger the ghost guardian; otherwise, it would bring bad luck and misfortune.
One full-moon night, a group of young villagers decided to challenge their fate and go to the mansion in search of answers. Carrying candles and courage, they stepped into the abandoned mansion. Under the moonlight, they saw the Ghost Guardian standing silently in the center of the mansion. There was a warm light in her eyes, and she seemed to sense the fear and curiosity in the hearts of these young people.
The young people were surprised to discover that the Ghost Guardian was no threat to them at all. Instead, she began slowly floating toward them, extending her slender fingers and gently touching one of them to a young man’s forehead. He felt warm energy flowing through his body, and the fear in his heart gradually faded away.
The guardian spirit did not speak, but a profound blessing was conveyed through her eyes. The young people felt peace and determination, and they understood that the Ghost Guardian did not intend to bring disaster, but to protect the land and the people’s goodwill.
From that day onward, the villagers’ attitude toward the ghost guardian began to change. They no longer feared her, but respected and admired her guardianship. Every year on the night of the full moon, the village held a ceremony, presenting bouquets of flowers and praying to thank the ghost who protected them.
Legend says that whenever someone became lost or encountered trouble in the forest, the Ghost Guardian would appear to guide them and bring them safely home. Although she remained in the form of a spirit of the dead, her kindness and protective spirit made her a beautiful and mysterious presence in the village.
