Long ago, in an ancient and desolate village, there was a mysterious legend about a Ghost Guardian. The village stood at the edge of a dense forest, and people had long heard about an abandoned mansion deep within the woods called the “Haunted House.”
According to legend, many years ago, a young woman named Ariana lived in the mansion. Ariana was beautiful, intelligent, kind, and gentle, and everyone in the village liked her. However, one unfortunate night, the mansion was engulfed in a massive fire. The flames were fierce, and the mansion was consumed in an instant. Ariana also died in the sea of fire.
It was said that Ariana’s spirit did not leave this world but remained in the mansion. People called her the “Ghost Guardian” and believed that she protected the mansion’s grounds and preserved the peace of the village. Many claimed to have seen her figure beneath the moonlight. She wore a white dress, and her long hair fell to the ground like a waterfall. Her eyes were filled with sorrow and pity.
Although the legendary Ghost Guardian had never harmed anyone, people were still afraid of her presence. The village elders told the young people not to approach the abandoned mansion at night, let alone anger the ghost guardian; otherwise, it would bring misfortune and bad luck.
One full-moon night, a group of young villagers decided to challenge their fate and go to the mansion in search of answers. Carrying candles and courage, they stepped into the abandoned mansion. Under the moonlight, they saw the Ghost Guardian standing silently in the center of the mansion. There was a warm light in her eyes, and she seemed to sense the fear and curiosity in the hearts of these young people.
The young people were surprised to discover that the Ghost Guardian posed no threat to them at all. Instead, she slowly floated toward them, extending her slender fingers and gently touching one of them to a young man’s forehead. He felt warm energy flowing through his body, and the fear in his heart gradually faded away.
The guardian spirit did not speak, but a profound blessing was conveyed through her eyes. The young people felt peaceful and determined, and they understood that the Ghost Guardian did not intend to bring disaster, but to protect the land and the goodwill of the people.
From that day onward, the villagers’ attitude toward the ghost guardian began to change. They were no longer afraid of her, but respected and admired her guardianship. Every year on the night of the full moon, the village held a ceremony, offering bouquets of flowers and prayers to thank the ghost who protected them.
The legend says that whenever someone becomes lost or encounters trouble in the forest, the Ghost Guardian appears to guide them and bring them safely home. Although she remains in the form of a spirit of the dead, her kindness and protective spirit have made her a beautiful and mysterious presence in the village.
