At the interview, I learned that the employer’s maximum budget was only NT$32,000—then it was up to me whether I wanted it. It makes me wonder why they asked about my expected salary in the first place. They also asked whether I wanted to work in Zhongli or Taoyuan. Most people would choose the location closer to home, but then the supervisor looked awkward because the opening was in Zhongli. They could have simply made the conditions clear from the beginning instead of pretending to ask the supervisor and wasting everyone’s time. The Zhongli workplace is very run-down and old-fashioned.
