Pros

Annual salary adjustment mechanism

Cons

1. The company culture feels like working in a royal court. There are many meddlesome people and senior employees who throw their weight around, and you often have to watch your colleagues’ reactions. Colleagues dictate when other people may turn off the lights at lunchtime, what they can place on their desks, what they eat for breakfast, whom they interact with, and even prevent them from communicating with supervisors. These domineering employees like to make things difficult for others and are unwilling to do their jobs properly. For example, when you need to obtain stationery or apply for necessary office supplies, they have a very poor attitude, yet you still have to speak to them politely. They specifically bully people with good tempers, but act completely differently when dealing with domineering employees. Here, the worse someone’s attitude is, the more respect they receive and the more recognition they get from supervisors. It is truly a case of right and wrong being turned upside down.

2. Colleagues are frequently loudly berated, to the extent that it resembles a drunk person causing trouble outside a stir-fry restaurant. You can hear it from the hallway. They show absolutely no consideration for people’s dignity, and the issues are often completely trivial. Supervisors and HR never manage these personnel-related problems.

3. The organization is inefficient and has no technical competence. People repeatedly discuss exactly the same issues, documents are revised again and again, and in the end they may say the document is no longer needed or claim that it was originally that way when it never was. No company outside this one endlessly revises a single document or presentation. Meetings consist only of repeatedly saying that something is not good, without explaining why or providing a direction for implementation. They hold meaningless meetings, and the same matter can be discussed for several years without reaching a conclusion. Handling matters between departments requires writing formal internal documents.

4. Workplace bullying and harassment are tolerated, with no proactive handling.

The worst company I have ever worked for, with a large number of employees whose behavior is outrageous—not just a few. Yet everyone is still proud of it and believes that their own company is the best.
