達建工業股份有限公司
Pros

This is a traditional manufacturing company primarily producing mid- to high-end bicycle forks, with its factory and offices in the same location. Upon arrival, you greet the security guard at the gatehouse, and an HR specialist comes down to take you to the office. The HR representative was very pleasant and asked things like, “It’s really hot today, isn’t it?” “Where are you from?” and “Was it a long trip?” When asking you to fill out your personal information, they even give you a bottle of water. After you finish providing your personal information, they briefly ask you some questions. You can also ask HR any questions you have. After that, the interviewer conducts the interview and first asks you to take a few short tests. I assume they are testing whether you can understand some export shipment information and write business emails in English. There is also a simple aptitude test. Next, they explain that the company’s orders probably will not be very strong over the coming year, because its products are mainly exported to Europe, where sales growth this year has fallen short of expectations, resulting in ongoing inventory reduction. Nevertheless, they are recruiting new overseas sales staff because they want to train new employees while the company is not too busy, helping them build a solid foundation. They are also quite willing to give newcomers time to learn professional product knowledge. Their willingness to spend time training talent is a major plus! They asked me to explain my previous job responsibilities and experience. I had a fairly long conversation with the interviewer, and overall, the interview felt pretty good.

Cons

The position is overseas sales, but based on the explanation during the interview, the work is more like inside sales/international trade. The supervisor tactfully explained that business development is currently handled more by certain supervisors, because they have spent more time on development (but I was curious: what are the salespeople currently employed there doing? XD). Since there is not much performance pressure related to business development, no one has received a performance bonus so far. Therefore, this company may be worth trying for someone who wants stable inside-sales work. However, if, like me, you want to pursue strong sales results and business-development bonuses, this company may not be suitable.
