I was previously an employee at one of the company’s sites in northern Taiwan and was assigned to work at the front desk of a technology company in Neihu. This company has continuously used “after one year, you can transfer to a full-time position at the technology company” as a pretext to deceive unsuspecting job seekers. Because they could not find someone who could work the morning shift, they tricked my former coworker into temporarily working mornings, telling him that they would help him switch to evening shifts later. My coworker worked there for nearly a year, but the supervisor never helped him switch to the evening shift. When my coworker asked the supervisor about it, the supervisor even said directly, “Did I ever say I would let you switch to the evening shift?”
However, when it comes to the company’s own internal hires and relatives, they can work the evening shift without having to say much. The company has now placed the owner’s daughter-in-law and niece in the vacant position, so I do not know what the point is of posting job openings on this platform. The internal situation is extremely filthy.
My former coworker was previously docked NT$1,300 by the company for taking one day of sick leave without any valid reason. When he later asked about it, the company’s senior management even said, “He could see a doctor in the morning, so why did he need to take the whole day off?” Subsequently, my former coworker’s husband reported the company’s nonsensical conduct to the Bureau of Labor Insurance, and the company’s senior management even demanded that he withdraw the report. The company’s senior management continues to use various tactics to bully my former coworker, allowing their own people to take leave freely while threatening my former coworkers and forbidding them from taking leave. The company constantly claims that it strictly follows the Labor Standards Act, but in reality it is doing things that directly conflict with the law.
A week before I resigned, they even called me specifically to say that they had already calculated payment for all of my unused annual leave and that I was not allowed to take annual leave anymore. This was the first time I had ever heard that annual leave could be handled this way without the employee’s consent. They also said that I had to collect a check for my salary for the month of resignation, and that if I wanted a bank transfer, they would have to submit some kind of application that might not even be approved. Truly, this is an unprecedented and exceptionally strange company.
Also, they deduct welfare fees every month but provide almost no benefits. They say they provide gifts for the three major holidays, but they do not actually give anything for all three holidays. Perhaps they use the employees’ welfare fees for family trips. After staying in this unstructured, nepotistic environment with a dead-sea effect until I was nearly ill, I immediately found another job and left. I am posting this comment to discourage unsuspecting job seekers from applying for this position.
