Video interview
Not having to travel to a faraway kingdom that feels like it's at the ends of the earth should count as a benefit, right?
The position was in social media marketing.
There were two interview rounds: a first and a second interview.
The entire interview process took a little over two months before there was an outcome.
The manager in the first interview was a very kind female manager.
The questions were not too difficult, mainly focusing on your personality and communication skills.
It felt like she was primarily looking for team members who would get along with her.
Of course, she also asked about professional experience, mainly focusing on cases from the past, but overall, the difficulty was not very high.
The second interview took an extremely long time to arrange, and I was even stood up by the interviewer during the scheduled second interview.
It was an extremely unpleasant experience. HR came out to keep things going, wasting time—apparently, other people's time doesn't count.
Because he stood me up, the interview had to be scheduled a third time. Although he apologized, his attitude was really...
The second interviewer was a male manager who was obsessed with data and asked about data for everything.
If performance was poor, it was supposedly the social media team's problem. He clearly had no understanding of the function and purpose of social media.
He was completely numbers-driven, and even when I provided data to support my points, he was still dissatisfied and kept talking about performance.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering applying for a social media position not apply for this one, because you can tell that whenever performance is poor, social media will be the first team blamed.
Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience. The other articles below really aren't making things up.
It felt like I had been tricked into preparing a proposal and had my life wasted.
Anyone considering interviewing here should really think twice.
