They show a reasonable amount of respect for interviewees.
I was a recent graduate participating in campus recruitment. The company's interview process had two stages. The second interview was supposedly with the CEO. At first, I thought it would be a huge waste of time, and it really was. ==
The CEO asked exactly the same questions as the junior manager in the first interview. The only difference was that, at the end, the CEO asked—in a somewhat aggressive and impolite tone, as if demanding that I answer “I’m sure I’ll show up for work”—whether I was certain I would accept the offer.
They also refused to clearly state the salary. I thought HR would discuss the confirmed salary and benefits with me after the second interview, but that never happened. They simply sent me an offer letter with no details at all and said I had to reply confirming that I would show up for work before they would tell me my compensation package??
How am I supposed to make a decision when I know nothing? I replied and told them they should at least provide the basic information so I could compare it with my other offers. They then sent an HR representative who could not explain things clearly and had no position of her own, merely relaying messages, to give me a load of nonsense about why they could not let me know the salary and benefits. I replied with my position, and she immediately said she would provide the information later. It felt like they had assumed from the start that a student would not push back. They clearly did not expect me to protest, because HR immediately backed down. I have no idea what they were doing—extremely unprofessional.
