When the company is making money, you can barely earn a little extra.
You get one free cup of tea every day until you’re tired of drinking it.
Aside from being a little boring, chatting with customers lets you meet a lot of people.
I’ve heard that the online shopping business has been doing well recently, so if you apply to work in that department, it should be pretty great.
When the company is making money, the boss is relatively generous.
When the company isn’t making money, they treat you like garbage. After the pandemic, the boss was so devastated by the losses at the stores that they blamed the employees for everything. But when the company is making money, it’s all about brainwashing you with “love Taiwan, love Taiwanese tea.”
They think everyone should be just like them.
They really like watching employees fight among themselves. Many people write in their daily journals criticizing their colleagues. If you don’t join in and say something, every mistake will be blamed on you.
There’s a relative of the boss working internally. It’s best not to get on their bad side, and hardly any long-term employees have stayed.
In short, it’s a terrible job no matter where you are in the company.
