If you have connections, mistakes are overlooked; if you don't, make one mistake and you'll be waiting to be disciplined—and waiting to pack up and leave.
HR and the executives have made the company culture pretentious, forcing everyone to participate in strange activities and training. They demand results while also expecting everyone to put on a show for the executives.
